OUR WORK
Creating opportunities that change lives.
Every initiative begins with a simple question:
Where can one thoughtful intervention make the biggest difference?
Sahgal Foundation works to create educational and growth opportunities for those who have had fewer opportunities in life, while supporting initiatives that address health, nutrition and other essential needs.
Opportunity can mean different things: a better place to learn, access to the right healthcare, skills that lead to work, or support that helps someone live with greater independence.
Our work responds to specific needs, with a focus on practical support that can create greater opportunity, dignity and hope.
How opportunities takes shape
Opportunity in action
YOGODA SATSANGA SOCIETY OF INDIA · RANCHI
Building a School,
Expanding Opportunity
In communities where quality education and school infrastructure remain limited, children can be at a disadvantage from the start.
The Foundation supported the construction of the Yogoda Satsanga school in Ranchi, Bihar, with government and other partners contributing resources to create a stronger learning environment for children from underserved backgrounds.
GYAN SHAKTI VIDYALAYA
Creating More Than a Classroom
Gyan Shakti Vidyalaya serves children from communities around the Yamuna Pushta in Noida. The school previously operated from an open park, leaving students exposed to the elements.
Sahgal Foundation rented school premises in Sector 14, Noida, providing students with a safer and more consistent environment for learning.
A dedicated space has given students greater stability and a better environment in which to learn.
EYE CARE
Restoring Sight. Restoring Independence.
For artisans, tailors and other skilled workers, inadequate access to eye care can affect their ability to continue working and earning a livelihood.
The Foundation supports eye care and cataract treatment initiatives, helping people access timely treatment and, where possible, continue working and earning independently.
YUVA HEALTHCARE SKILLING
Training for a Future in Healthcare
Yuva Healthcare Skilling trains students who have completed Class 12 in practical healthcare disciplines, including operating-theatre and ICU support, CPR, radiology assistance and phlebotomy.
Students learn through simulation using intelligent mannequins that provide audio feedback. The organisation is also developing AI-based audio-visual tools to make assessment of student competence more objective.
For students from underserved backgrounds, the Foundation scholarships help make this specialised training accessible.
LADY HARDINGE MEDICAL COLLEGE
Scholarships are also given to bright young girls in public health in memory of Dr. Kusum Sahgal.
EARTH SAVIOUR FOUNDATION

The Foundation supports Earth Saviour Foundation, which provides shelter, care and essential support to elderly and vulnerable people.

AN EMERGING AREA OF FOCUS
Nutrition Literacy
Spreading awareness around nutrition and helping address India’s nutrition challenges.
It is easy to forget in the hurly burly of everyday existence to forget those who are less fortunate. We need to inculcate the culture of remembering those who have less, and of giving back some of what we are fortunate to have been endowed with to the society that gave us so many opportunities and enabled our good fortune.
